Cropped pants make me think "junior high school." Doesn't matter who's wearing them, but they've always been paired with flats (in my mind) and some "Relax, don't do it" T-shirt. Maybe those wide belts that went over the shirt. No matter what the style - spandex leggings, cropped cargo, flared, whatever, they scream "I'm a kid! I may have even outgrown my pants!"
Okay, you've successfully dissuaded me from them pants.
