I visited a store the other day, the first time in months. The music was loud and jumpy, not the usual swingey French tunes. Today, I notice the website has a picture of this 20-something girl hawking their "Newbies" line.
I wonder why the company has decided to edge their target demographic lower. Whatever the reasoning, they must be doing something right because I hear their stocks are still rising.

I used to like some anthropologie stuff and lost interest a little less than a year or so ago. I thought it was me, but maybe it's the shift. I read the company was going to start a store aimed towards more sophisocated tastes, so maybe they are trying to widen the demographic before launching?
That makes sense to me.
Also, in the various fashion forums I visit, many people have said that nothing has enticed them in the past year. So I think we are not the only ones who aren't really impressed with Anthropologie lately, at least not enough to part with our money.
I have to come across something special before I'll open my wallet these days, and Anthropologie is still producing the same old stuff.
